NEW SensatioNail Fuse gelnamel kit review

I was so excited when i got the chance to review this little luxury. Gel nail have been the a beauty must for a few years now and with the release of sensation first kit it became more accessible and affordable.

SensatioNail l have recently launched new sub brand fuse. A DIY gel nail brand aimed at the younger crowd. The new Fuse kit only cost £35 which is quite a considerable difference to the £69 price tag of sensational original gel nail kit.  The fuse kit boasts  All-in-one gennamel formula, one-coat coverage, 30-second flash-dry (using the supplied LED lamp) , anti-chip technology and super shiny long lasting gel nails. Whats not to love? The new fuse starter kits are cute at compact and can be powered using a USB or plug into the mains. It’s so compact and small perfect for popping into your luggage when travels – ideal as holiday season is approaching.

In comparison to the SensatioNail gel nail kits its less fussy as you only have to apply the ‘gelnamel’ and no top coat is needed. It does state you only need one coat of the polish for an even manicure , but at least two coats are needed as the first one can look very streaky and uneven.

I sat down with glass of wine and followed the instructions with precise caution, giving myself a DIY pamper session. I buffed cleansed applied a thin coat and cured under the included LED lamp. One coat is definitely not enough the finish was patchy and streaky. I applied a second coat and the finish was a lot better. I was really happy until a few hours later one of my nails chipped and the rest followed suit. So disappointed as this didn’t deliver the results it promised.

Unfortunately I don’t think this kit is worth it as my nails started to chip less than 24 hours. Gel nails should last at least A week if applied properly. You can use other gel nail polishes with the lamp so is good that you can use other brands – the original SensatioNail l polishes are a lot better! The other downside to the kit is the compact LED kit is small so you can only do one nail at a time but the smaller size would be great for travelling with only a limited space. I have to say I don’t think the kit is worth the price tag and if you are after a at home gel kit I would opt for the original sensational gel kit.

*New* Rimmel London Scandaleyes Lycra Flex mascara Review

There has been a few releases of new mascara's from different brands including Rimmel this month. Rimmel London's latest mascara is scandaleyes Lycra Flex mascara which contains Lycra. I believe this is the first mascara that contains Lycra on the UK market. Its currently £4.99 as a introductory offer at Boots, normal price is £6.99 which is relatively cheap for a high street mascara. The new Rimmel London Scandaleyes Lycra Flex mascara is a upgrade of the normal Rimmel London Scandaleyes mascara but contains lyrca. This seems to be the trend of Rimmel new products, as there new kate moss polishes also contain lyrca.

 I applied to my eyelashes in a zigzag motion and layered on 2 coats.

What did i think of Rimmel London's Scandaleyes Lycra Flex mascara?

I don't normally go for big brush mascaras as i prefer the comb type, as i feel they capture more lashes. The mascara texture itself is good but i feel the real let down of this mascara is the brush and packaging. The big brush is too big for coating and catching bottom lashes, so i had to use my other mascara to do them. In regards to the packing its looks too cheap with the bright green plastic container. Those of you who prefer a mascara in a softer brown shade, unfortunately you won’t be able to get in it in this mascara as it is only available in black.
Although there are some downsides to this mascara, the price i paid £4.99 (after introductory period £6.99) , is competitively priced as most branded mascara are priced above £6 . The lightweight formula leaves your lashes looking longer and non-clumpy and doesn't flake throughout the day.

Pros: Price, volumises lashes, Contains LYCRA , doesn't make your lashes feel heavy, non flakey , non-clumpy

Cons: Brush is a little too big for catching bottom lashes, packaging looks a little cheap , only available in black
Bottom line:  I wouldn't purchase this mascara again due to the brush being too big.

I had been questioning purchasing the L'Oréal Paris Skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil, for the face and eyes for a long while. Its not widely knowing but removing your makeup by wipes everyday (or often) is really bad for skin, as it removes your skins natural oils.  I've recently been experiencing a breakout on my forehead and have put it down to this reason. So i though now was a good time to try the L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Cleansing Oil. Its currently buy 1 get 1 free at Tesco on the whole L'Oreal facial range, so it makes the £7.99 price tag feel reasonable.

The oil formula helps to re-balance the skin's natural oil production for healthy looking skin and is fantastically suitable for all skin types - even oily ones.

What did i think of  L'Oréal's skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil ?

This is just what my skin needed. I was a bit skeptical about rubbing it over my face with all my makeup still on but it did as it stated - dissolved my makeup.I had to repeat it twice though to remove all my makeup , but it efficiently and gently removed my makeup , even my mascara! Although i did use more then 2- 3 drops, as i didn't feel that it was enough for the amount of makeup i used. 

The texture is surprisingly non greasy and is very lightweight - It didn't irritate my skin or make it feel heavy. When in contact with water the oil becomes a white milky mixture and is easily washed off.
Overall i love this new unique oil, as it has definitely reduced my spots from my breakout on my forehead. I will now be replacing using my cleansing wipes a few times a week and treating my skin to this beautiful cleansing oil. 

Pros:Recyclable packaging, Suitable for all skin types , dissolves make up, even waterproof mascara , light weight, non greasy , left skin soft , not a strong fragrance
Cons: Had to repeat to remove all my makeup

Bottom line: Love this unique oil will be replacing using my cleansing wipes to remove my makeup , with the cleansing oil a few times a week.

There are priced at £6.50, 50p more expensive than the standard No7 stay perfect nail polishes. But until Sunday 19th May you can use your No7 £3 off makeup voucher and get them for £3.50, and plus buy 1 get one 1/2 price. There is limited shades available a glossy clear top coat,  baby pink, teal , fuschai , Barbie pink , red , blue and grey.

What does No7 say?

What do i think?
Gel nail technology nail polishes are all the rage at the moment. Numerous brand have revamped their old outdated nail polishes with new 'Gel technology' or 'Gel look' polishes.
Gel nail manicure are known for their ultra glossy finish , quick drying time and staying power.Perfect for beauties on the go who don't have much time for pampering due to their schedules.

I used my Sally Hansen nail strengthening  Sally Hansen Hard as Nails base coat , and applied on coat of the teal nail polish.  Then applied two coats of teal in total one after another when they had dried, it was incredible how even without the top coat how glossy my nails looked. Plus the drying time was really quick so there was hardly any risk of me smudging my nails. These No7 High Shine Gel Nail Polish definetly live up to their name.  The lady at counter said she wore for 4 days before they started to chip , fingers crossed this be the case.

Pros: Packaging, finish, gloss and shine , quick drying time
Cons: limited colours
Bottom line: Great nail polish shame about the limited colour range. Hopefully No7 will bring more of these out soon. I love the glossy finish hat was left will defiantly purchase again but when the No7 vouchers are back on .

Revlon photoready skinlights illuminator review

I've been searching for a drugstore highlighter for a while, to add glow to by skin and not make it look dull after I've applied my powder. I have been tempted to buy the Benefit high-beam but i think it is quiet pricey at £19.50 for 13 ml.  I was so excited when i saw the Revlon photoready skinlights illuminator, which is reasonably priced at £11.99 for 30ml (more than double than benefits illuminator). Revlon's illuminator, claims it can make you have a healthy glow in any light. Banish dullness and even out skin with light-capturing crystals and photochromatic pigments.

How did i  apply?

• Firstly, i dotted the illuminator over my cheekbones, cupids and brow bone and the places the sun would normally hit. 
• Secondly blended over makeup using a real techniques stippling brush.
• You can also mix with your foundation.

So did it live up to its claims?

The photo ready skin lights is available in two shades: bronze and pink. I chose the shade 'Bronze' as i thought rather than the 'Pink' pale shade, it suited my skin tone better - this turned out not to be the case. I swatched it in the store and it looked lovely on my skin. But when applied to the areas i wished to highlight it was quiet sheer and wasn't as pigmented as i hoped. I have a slight suspicion that the shade bronze on lighter skin tones may appear orange so very pale skin tone should probably opt for shade 'pink'. Surprisingly, this illuminator contains lemon peel extract, acai palm extract and citrus peel extract, which is quiet skin friendly. Lemon and citrus peel are known to even out your skin tone.

I wasn't impressed with this highlighter, the only thing that i really loved about the Revlon photoready illuminator was the price. My hunt for an affordable highlighter continues. I am tempted to give in and buy the Benefit highlighter, as it may be worth the money.

Pros: Contains lemon peel extract , acai palm extract and citrus peel extract. Reasonably priced.
Cons:  didn't blend as well, watery , contains silica
Bottom line: Its great that its priced at £11.99 for 30 ml in comparison to other available liquid highlighter. But unfortunately i wouldn't buy the Revlon photoready skin lights illuminator again due it being watery consistency and it not been able to blend.

SEVENTEEN / 17 *New* Lip Lustre Review

As i was browsing through the makeup stands in my Local Boots i came across the new SEVENTEEN Lip Lustre lip glosses. They seem to be a an 'updated' version of the previous SEVENTEEN ultimate lip volume lip glosses. Currently all SEVENTEEN products are 3 for 2, so purchased a few of the glosses at £3.99 each and also a SEVENTEEN supreme shine lipstick (review coming soon!). The shade i got were wild one, ice maiden , hotting up, talk that talk and queen of diamonds.(swatches below).

The shades i got were just a selection from the range - there's such a wide range of colour from red to coral to gold. The packaging is quite chic and doesn't look like a  it cost a mere £3.99 (such a great price for lip glosses). Sadly the product itself lets the new SEVENTEEN Lip Lustre lip down. After about an hour of wearing of wearing the lip lustre my lips were left feel sticky and dry. Wearing a non-greasy  lip balm reduced the dryness but didn't combat it. Also the colour in the tubes looked highly pigmented and vibrant, but it took quite a lot of 'layer' to build the colour up, as were very weak. Overall, the SEVENTEEN Lip Lustre  glosses are great buys for the price but i wouldn't purchases them again.

Pros: Price, Wide range of colours
Cons: did last on my lips a long , left my lips feeling 'sticky'.  The colours didn't come out as pigmented as they looked in their tubes, which was disappointing,
Bottom line: Great lip glosses for the price, but wouldn't purchase them again as they were drying and didn't last long on lip

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara review

I've been using the Rimmel Lash accelerator Mascara for a while , so i thought it was about time i did a review. It has been my 'go to' mascara for the past few months,as i feel it does exactly what promised and makes me lashes full , voluminous and feel stronger.  The mascara promises:

- Length that defies limits

- Formula with Micro-Fibres

- Instant wow: Extends lashes by up to 99%

- Lash-catching brush grabs every lash for perfect separation.  No clumps!

So does it live up to its promises?

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara is available in both black and brown and is priced at £7.99 for a 10ml tube  .  The mascara really extends my lashes and has even convinced me to stop wearing false eyelashes during the day (which is a big step for me, hehe) , as it is quick and easily to apply. I have quiet small eyes so i like to have full looking lashes to bring my eyes out more, and make my eyes look bigger  - this mascara is the one for the job! I've been using the Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara every day for over a month , and this great mascara is still yet to run out.  I've had problems with previous mascaras such as the No7 exceptional definition, which ran out in as little of 3 weeks.

The only downfall with  the Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara, is that size is difficult for coating your bottom lashes. But it does live up to it promises and delivers clump free longer looking lashes.

The Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara  is my new favourite high street mascara.

Max Factor liquid effect eyeliner review

I admittedly have a love -hate relationship with eyeliner- liquid,pencil & gel.  I am very hard to please when it comes to choosing the perfect pencil eyeliner. I most often opt for the colour black & i like the texture to be creamy, so its glides on. I've been searching & searching for my 'perfect' eyeliner for almost a year now. I've tried various brands including rimmel,No7, SEVENTEEN & Maybelline - to name a few.

After all the searching i think i've found the one. Max Factor Liquid effect eyeliner pencil! I was really drawn to this when browsing the makeup section in Boots, for a new eyeliner as its seemed like a perfect combination -  liquid & pencil in one! 

I purchased shade 10 - black fire , which is at jet black priced at £6.99. I couldn't wait to get home and try it and i wasn't left disappointed.  The pencil glides on smoothly, as it has a creamy lightweight texture. I've found that with other eyeliners i've tried, there quite hard and not so easy to put on. The smudger is a soft rubbery texture (unlike the common sponge types) ,  really helped to create a soft smoky eye - great for everyday look. 

Its great that the eyeliner just doesn't come in the two shades shades of brown and black , as there are 6 different shades to choose from including :  Black Fire, Brown Blaze, Silver Spark, Lilac Flame, Violet Voltage & Green Glow. So there no excuse not to experiment with new colours. After wearing the Liquid effect eyeliner all day, i found that it stayed in place and still looked as fresh as it did when i applied it. This my perfect new eyeliner! Soft,easy to apply , 2 in 1 , long wearing & available  range of shades

Black Fire, Brown Blaze, Green Glow, Lilac Flame,Silver Spark & Violet Voltage

Pros : liquid & pencil in one, easy to apply, come with smudger , soft texture , long wearing,  6 different shades available.

Cons: Abit pricey at £6.99

Bottom line: Definitely going to purchase this again , this my new staple and favourite eyeliner

Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer Review

I recently purchased two shades of the Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer , after hearing raving reviews about the new lip product. I purchased the bold bright red Big bang and also the subtle pink shade Galaxy

These lip lacquers have definitely exploded onto the beauty scence, they are 'must have' lip product of the moment. Rimmel states that the lacquers has a intense in rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine.  The new lacquer range includes shades such as the rosy pink Nova,  bright red Big Bang and coral pink Stellar .

I team them with a complementing  lip liner , so that the highly pigmentated  colour lasts all day on my lips. I am using two No7 precision lip pencils in the red shade 'fire' to accompany big bang and 'Blush' to wear with galaxy.

My  favourite shade out of the two shade i purchased has to be Galaxy as i feel i can wear it everyday without my makeup looking too strong. They don't dry out your lips and leave them feeling soft and hydrated. Fingers crossed they bring out more shades, as i feel Big Bang and Galaxy were the only shades that suited my skin tone.

Pros: High pigmented colour, Affordable, Last a long time on lips when used with a  lip liner, leave lips soft

Bottom line: Would repurchase again if they bring out a more varied colour range for every skin type

Seventeen Doll'd up mascara review

I received a voucher in the post to try this mascara for £2 from Boots.
Its from the recently revamped seventeen brand (previously know just numerically as 17).  It wouldn't have been my mascara of choice but at the price i thought it was worth a try.What's even better than the price, currently its 3 for 2 mix and match on all self serve cosmetics  lashes and makeup accessories in Boots.

I was excited to try it upon ready that that it could 'curl lashes for up to 24 hours. It did curl my lashes and make them look more volumized but the downfall is it also made them look 'spidery'.

Its not the best mascara for the job , as there are other better alternatives out there at a similar cost.

Bottom line : Good mascara but not great.

Pros: Price, Love the brush applicator, Curled lashes

Cons: mascara itself watery consistency , lashes looked a bit sparse/spider
