Would you rather tag!

Ciao Bella!

I came across the lovely Rachels blog  from fairoffaceandfullofgrace
(check it out here) and couldn't resist not to the would you rather makeup tag!

Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners and lipsticks or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
I hardly use palettes so i wouldn't mind loosing them all.

Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I would chop off all my hair . I love short hair. I think its such a good - but then again not everyone can pull it off.

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Coral cheeks! Looks gorgeous on so many people.

If you had €1000 to spend, Would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
60% on clothes and 40% on makeup.
Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Can’t say I’ve done either, so i think i would have to lipstick as eyeliner as there are so many more different shades available.

Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
If we had Sephora in the UK i would say Sephora as they have such great brands in store. But because we don't i have to say MAC.

Would you rather only use one eye shadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
One eye shadow colour. A bold lip is one of my favourite makeup looks and i love switching the colours up.

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
It would have to be winter clothes in summer .

Would you rather dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Bright nail all year round , so it would brighten up my look.

Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
Favourite eye product - which has to be my lock and seal by E.L.F.

Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail or a messy bun?
Messy bun.

Would your rather never being able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?
I would quite happily never wear lip gloss again. I prefer lipsticks over lip glosses as i hate the stickiness lip glosses tend to leave.

Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all? or Sharpie them in everyday?
Sharpie them in everyday! Even sharpie eyebrows would frame your face.

Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
110% live without nail polish. Makeup is so diverse and i cannot live without it as its one of my passions.

I tag everyone who is reading this to give this a go and if you do I would love to see your version.

*New* Rimmel London Scandaleyes Lycra Flex mascara Review

Ciao Bella!

There has been a few releases of new mascara's from different brands including Rimmel this month. Rimmel London's latest mascara is scandaleyes Lycra Flex mascara which contains Lycra. I believe this is the first mascara that contains Lycra on the UK market. Its currently £4.99 as a introductory offer at Boots, normal price is £6.99 which is relatively cheap for a high street mascara. The new Rimmel London Scandaleyes Lycra Flex mascara is a upgrade of the normal Rimmel London Scandaleyes mascara but contains lyrca. This seems to be the trend of Rimmel new products, as there new kate moss polishes also contain lyrca.

What makes Rimmel London Scandaleyes Lycra Flex mascara special?
  • Oversized volumising mascara brush
  • Contains LYCRA®
  • Leaves your lashes soft and flexible - Never stiff or brittle
  • MaxDensity brush covers the whole lash line with one effortless coat.
  • Flexible Formula enhanced with weightless LYCRA® technology makes lashes look full and voluptuous but remain flexible

How did i  apply?
I applied to my eyelashes in a zigzag motion and layered on 2 coats.

What did i think of Rimmel London's Scandaleyes Lycra Flex mascara?
I don't normally go for big brush mascaras as i prefer the comb type, as i feel they capture more lashes. The mascara texture itself is good but i feel the real let down of this mascara is the brush and packaging. The big brush is too big for coating and catching bottom lashes, so i had to use my other mascara to do them. In regards to the packing its looks too cheap with the bright green plastic container. Those of you who prefer a mascara in a softer brown shade, unfortunately you won’t be able to get in it in this mascara as it is only available in black.
Although there are some downsides to this mascara, the price i paid £4.99 (after introductory period £6.99) , is competitively priced as most branded mascara are priced above £6 . The lightweight formula leaves your lashes looking longer and non-clumpy and doesn't flake throughout the day.

Pros:
Price, volumises lashes, Contains LYCRA , doesn't make your lashes feel heavy, non flakey , non-clumpy
Cons: Brush is a little too big for catching bottom lashes, packaging looks a little cheap , only available in black
Bottom line:  I wouldn't purchase this mascara again due to the brush being too big.

Whats your favourite mascara?

*New* L'Oréal Paris Skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil Review

Ciao Bella!

I had been questioning purchasing the L'Oréal Paris Skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil, for the face and eyes for a long while. Its not widely knowing but removing your makeup by wipes everyday (or often) is really bad for skin, as it removes your skins natural oils.  I've recently been experiencing a breakout on my forehead and have put it down to this reason. So i though now was a good time to try the L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Cleansing Oil. Its currently buy 1 get 1 free at Tesco on the whole L'Oreal facial range, so it makes the £7.99 price tag feel reasonable.

The oil formula helps to re-balance the skin's natural oil production for healthy looking skin and is fantastically suitable for all skin types - even oily ones.

What is the L'Oréal Paris Skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil ?
L'Oréal Paris Skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil, high performance cleansing for all skin types. Instantly dissolves even waterproof make-up,skin feels perfectly clean with a non-greasy finish. The oil formula helps to re-balance skin's natural oil production for healthy-looking skin.

What makes the L'Oréal Paris Skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil so special?
  • The Miracle Cleansing Oil helps to re-balance the natural oil production, restoring optimum levels of hydration.
  • Reveals smoother, healthy-looking and radiant skin.
  • Instantly dissolves make-up, even waterproof
  •  Re-balances and purifies for healthy looking skin
  • Lightweight and non-greasy
  • Suitable for all skin types
  • Tested under dermatological and ophthalmological control

How do you apply?
  • Instantly remove make-up and impurities. Help perfect skin texture.
  • For daily use, apply 2-3 drops to dry hands and massage thoroughly over the face. Rinse thoroughly with water.

What did i think of  L'Oréal's skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil ?
This is just what my skin needed. I was a bit skeptical about rubbing it over my face with all my makeup still on but it did as it stated - dissolved my makeup.I had to repeat it twice though to remove all my makeup , but it efficiently and gently removed my makeup , even my mascara! Although i did use more then 2- 3 drops, as i didn't feel that it was enough for the amount of makeup i used.
The texture is surprisingly non greasy and is very lightweight - It didn't irritate my skin or make it feel heavy. When in contact with water the oil becomes a white milky mixture and is easily washed off.
Overall i love this new unique oil, as it has definitely reduced my spots from my breakout on my forehead. I will now be replacing using my cleansing wipes a few times a week and treating my skin to this beautiful cleansing oil.

Pros:Recyclable packaging, Suitable for all skin types , dissolves make up, even waterproof mascara , light weight, non greasy , left skin soft , not a strong fragrance
Cons: Had to repeat to remove all my makeup
Bottom line: Love this unique oil will be replacing using my cleansing wipes to remove my makeup , with the cleansing oil a few times a week.

Have you tried the miracle skin oil?

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review with 5N2 swatch

Ciao Bella!

As mentioned in my Selfridges summer beauty evening &  Makeup haul post (which you can read here), I wanted to try a new foundation as I have been wearing my beloved MAC studio fix foundation since I was 16 (I’m now 20!). I’ve heard so many good reviews and raves about the
Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation, so I thought I would give it a try. I have combination/oily skin so finding a oil free foundation like , Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation  is essential. The finish is  Semi-Matte and is perfectly fine for those who have oily skin. It has 15-hour staying power similar to the long wear of the MAC Studio fix fluid but also , Medium, buildable coverage with a built in SPF 10 Natural. After chatting to the counter assistant I was matched to shade 'Amber Honey (5N2)' which is a neutral shade.

What is Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation?
Coverage: Full coverage
Finish: Matte Finish
Number of Shades: 30, ranging from “Bone” to “Mahogony”
Main Selling Point: Covers well and stays on all day

What did i think?
It’s a little pricer than my normal foundation by MAC which cost £21.50, but i feel that £27 is still a reasonable price for a high end foundation. Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation is one of the best selling foundations on the market. They are broken down into 3 different groups C (cool), N (neutral), W (warm), to help you find the perfect shade, They have a huge range of 30 shades to choose from. The foundation glides on smoothly but dries quickly so you have to work somewhat fast to get this on. I did find this foundation a little too dry as it made my face feel too taught and somewhat stiff. Although once dried it stays in place all day long and doesn't budge-good stuff! It’s heat-proof, water-resistant and gives your skin matte finish. I love makeup products that have SPF in them, good for preventing sun damage. The biggest downside to this foundation is that it oxidised throughout the day meaning the colour looked darker at the end of the day then when i put it on. I wouldn’t say the coverage isn’t as brilliant compared – (I would say it wasn’t full coverage but medium) to MAC’s fix fluid but maybe the  Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation maximum coverage would be better. Once I have finished this bottle I won’t be purchasing it again, due to the way it made my face feel and how it oxidised. Also the shades for dark skinned beauties are slightly orangey, which is not a good look.
Amber Honey (5N2) -  neutral shade

Pros:Huge range or colour shades, staying power, SPF 10  , oil free
Cons: have to buy pump separately, oxidised, drying , not full coverage, the shades for dark skinned beauties are slightly orangey.
Bottom line: Once I have finished this bottle I won't be purchasing it again, good foundation but I feel there are better ones on the market for less or similar price.

Glossybox May 2013 (Birthday edition)

Ciao Bella!

Admittedly this is my first Glossybox ever! I have been wanting to get them for well over a year but for some reason never got round to it.

I got the 2nd birthday Glossybox coincidentally for my birthday, which is also in may off a friend. I coudlnt wait to see what goodies would be inside! 'Glossybox Uk is celebrating its second birthday with beauty treats from some its trusted and most beloved brands.' The theme of this box was not just 2nd birthday but the celebration of 'premium skincare and beauty heros".

What is a glossy box?

'Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service, which delivers 5 beauty samples wrapped in a beautiful box straight to your door.'

What did i get?

L’OCCITANE EN PROVENCE ANGELICA HYDRATION CREAM - 15ML

"Made with organic angelica from the Drôme region of France, the fresh and silky-smooth Angelica Hydration Cream deeply moisturises and revitalises the skin. L'OCCITANE's patented angelica complex reinforces natural skin hydration by stimulating aquaporines, improves skin elasticity and protects from free radicals. Skin is plumped, smoothed and radiant. "

I'm confused why i was sent out this as the question-air before you order your first glossy box asked which skin type i had - Oily/Combination., this cream is ideal for dry to normal skin. Although its dermatologically tested , non-comedogenic and from a well respected brand i am a bit wary  about using it as i don't want it to make my oily skin any worse.
How much was my sample  worth? £9.0030.00 £ / 50ml (Original size)

CAUDALIE DIVINE OIL - 15ml

"The Beauty Elixir for your body, face and hair, the Divine Oil offers everything you need to make your skin positively exquisite.  Divine Oil is a dry oil that is both light and hydrating; its unique blend of grape, hibiscus, sesame and Argan oils are immediately absorbed into the skin with a non-greasy finish.Divine oil can be used on the body, face, hair, nails, added to a hot bath, or used as a massage oil."
I've used this on my hair and face and it left them  feeling so soft and luxurious! I love how its a multi-purpose oil and is not just for the hair but for basically all over your body including nails and face.  The luxury oils withing the Caudalie Divine Oil include;
  •  Grape Oil: which had a high concentration of omega 6 which is highly nourishing.
  •  Extra virgin Argan Oil: popularly  withing the beauty world. The Argan oil within this divine oil is organically farmed and fair trade certified and originates from South Morocco. Argan oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and inoleic acid (precursor of vitamin F), it helps restore the hydrolipidic film and participates in maintaining the quality of skin cells.
  • Extra Virgin Hibiscus Oil: Grown in India and known as the ""flower of eternity,"" this oil is extracted by cold pressing the seeds. Hibiscus oil plays an essential role in restricting epidermal water loss.
  • Sesame Oil: Composed of linoleic and oleic fatty acids, sesame oil aids in the softening and soothing of skin.
Divine oil also includes fair trade Shea Butter widely known for its restorative powers and nourishing properties.  I am so tempted to purchase the full size of this oil as a little goes a long way and will last a long while , so it would be a worthwhile purchase.
How much was my sample  worth? £4.0527.00 £ / 100ml (Original size)

Whats your favourite beauty oil?

PRIME & CREATE MIXING MEDIUM - 2.5g

"When combined with mineral powders and pigments, this amazingly versatile product will allow you to create dozens of different make up finishes. Use under your foundation as a matte finish primer or mix with loose or compact powders to create many different products. Mix with mineral foundation powder for a long lasting airbrush finish or with mineral concealer for heavy duty coverage. You can also mix Prime & Create with eyeshadow pigments to create an intense finish or as a liquid liner. Use alone as a primer to give a matte, shine free base for flawless make up application.Mix with mineral foundation and concealer powders for an airbrush effect and maximum coverage with a matte finish. Mix with powder blushers and bronzers to create a cream tint for eyes, lips or cheeks.Mix with eyeshadow pigments to create liquid eyeliners and intense eyeshadow finishes"

The packaging of this sample really lets the product down. Its a small 1p coin size clear pot with a minute label stuck on the back. But the product in size is such a wonder, you mix it with powder makeup to create many different makeup finishes or use it alone as a primer underneath your makeup. Good versatile product but really let down by its packaging.

How much was my sample  worth?  £2.50
20.00 £ / 20g (Original size)

JELLY PONG PONG FAIRY LASHES MASCARA - 8ml (full size)
"This is not for the faint-hearted. Our first ever mascara is formulated to make eye lashes flutter & flap. Water-resistant, Fairy Lashes makes eyelashes thicker & curvier while allowing them to be spectacularly soft & light. A truly fabulous effect for the woman who wants to emphasize one deep, intense, seductive look.
Bonus : A combination of blue lake & black pigments helps to intensify the colour for a truly deep, black effect"

This was the most expensive sample withing the whole box and one of the two full sized items. Its available in two shades violet and intense black, i received intense  black much to my delight. This mascara is fantastic makes your lashes look full and voluminous minus the clumps!

How do you apply? Apply liberally & sweep the heavy wand upwards for thick, luscious lashes.

How much was my sample  worth? £15£15.00  / 8ml (Original size)

HEADLINES NAIL POLISH - 10ML (full size)
"Headline Colors is the brand new, must-have nail color collection following the heartbeat of fashion, offering a capsule collection of only the hottest nail colors based on the very latest fashion trends. Apply two thin coats to clean nails. The first coat will 'fix' the polish to the nail. The second will provide the opaque, glossy top coat"

Ive not been able to try this on yet as  i cant get the lid off the nail polish. (I think its stuck). Ive contacting Glossybox and hopefully i should get a replacement  nail varnish or product sent out soon.I cant wait to try it as the built in top coat sounds so convenient.

How much is it worth? £9.00
£9.00  / 10ml (Original size)

Glossy box nail files

I love how these are cute miniature purse friendly nails files perfect for on the go. I'm going to keep these in my handbag so they are at hand if i need them.

My favourite product of the Glossybox May 2013, has to be the Caudalie Divine Oil. As i find it so nourishing , luxurious and its has so many beneficial multipurpose uses. My least favourite product out of the Glossybox has to be  Prime & Create Mixing Medium , what lets this product down the most is the packaging, which looked so cheap and uninviting.

Overall my box price came to £24.70, which is less than half what the box costs (£10+ £2.95 P+P). I'm going to trial Glossybox for another month , but i was left a little disappointing by the samples i received considering it was their birthday box i didn't feel the products were that special.

What was in your May Glossybox?
