SEVENTEEN / 17 *New* Lip Lustre Review

Ciao Bella!

As i was browsing through the makeup stands in my Local Boots i came across the new SEVENTEEN Lip Lustre lip glosses. They seem to be a an 'updated' version of the previous SEVENTEEN ultimate lip volume lip glosses. Currently all SEVENTEEN products are 3 for 2, so purchased a few of the glosses at £3.99 each and also a SEVENTEEN supreme shine lipstick (review coming soon!). The shade i got were wild one, ice maiden , hotting up, talk that talk and queen of diamonds.(swatches below).

Left to Right: wild one, ice maiden , hotting up, talk that talk and queen of diamonds

The shades i got were just a selection from the range - there's such a wide range of colour from red to coral to gold. The packaging is quite chic and doesn't look like a  it cost a mere £3.99 (such a great price for lip glosses). Sadly the product itself lets the new SEVENTEEN Lip Lustre lip down. After about an hour of wearing of wearing the lip lustre my lips were left feel sticky and dry. Wearing a non-greasy  lip balm reduced the dryness but didn't combat it. Also the colour in the tubes looked highly pigmented and vibrant, but it took quite a lot of 'layer' to build the colour up, as were very weak. Overall, the SEVENTEEN Lip Lustre  glosses are great buys for the price but i wouldn't purchases them again.

Without Flash wild one, ice maiden , hotting up , queen of diamonds and talk that talk.
With Flash

Pros: Price, Wide range of colours
Cons: did last on my lips a long , left my lips feeling 'sticky'.  The colours didn't come out as pigmented as they looked in their tubes, which was disappointing,
Bottom line: Great lip glosses for the price, but wouldn't purchase them again as they were drying and didn't last long on lip

What's your favourite 17 product?

I was going to buy a lip colour like this from 17 and I wanted a bright colour an coincidentally stumbled upon your blog and now I don't want to buy it because it doesn't look as pigmented or buildable at all as I thought!

Favourite product? The Doll'd up 24h mascara- Amazeballs!

Hi Angelika,
Thanks for reading my review.
L'oreal does some bright and pigmented lip glosses and lipstick that last a while on your lips.
Or if you wanted to try a high end brand, MAC 'lip glasses' are great and they do a range of colours including bright ones. They've just brought out a new spring fashion collection, which includes bold , bright and highly pigmented colours. I've left the link below.

That's interesting - I really like Hotting Up and Talk That Talk, which I have - I think the non-pigmentedness is one of the reasons why. Such a mistake for 17 to only have one kind of lip gloss at the moment, as it's fine for people like me who have boring lip colour habits, but not so good for those who like a brighter lip.

Have you tried the Soap & Glory lipgloss?
